May – June: SVA Outreach, books, kirtan, art, and prasadam

Jun 22, 2025

May 27:

Outreach at Women’s Rehabilitation Center

On May 27, devotees distributed books, art, and prasadam, at West Care, a local shelter that provides mothers and their children with rehabilitative services. The residents excitedly took each and every book/art print we brought! After feasting on prasadam, the women and children enjoyed uplifting kirtan, dancing and singing along with the devotees.

“It shifted my emotions. I feel energized and peaceful now,”

… shared one woman. We can’t wait to come back to West Care! If you know of any local shelters, prisons, halfway homes, mental health centers, or similar organizations that would like to receive our services, please contact us here.

May 29 & June 4

Srimati Syamarani Didi at Miami Dade College

Miami Dade College’s faculty invited Srimati Syamarani Didi to lecture on May 29 and June 4 as part of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander Heritage month. Last week marked week three of a four week series sharing Vedic wisdom through transcendental art.

Srimati Syamarani Didi spoke about the Srimad Bhagavatam and the real purpose of life. Students were happy to hear her speak openly and honestly about topics not covered in school, like who is God and what is the goal of my life? They asked her earnest questions, eagerly received books and art, and could not wait to see her again.

She will be back this Thursday June 12th from 6-7pm to speak about Devotional Art.

May 31 to June 7:

Home Programs: Kirtan, Talks, and Prasadam

From May 31 to June 7, we held three home programs thanks to hosts Krizia, Uday Waghray, and others. SVA devotees, community members, and friends enjoyed kirtan, prasadam cooked by Sarada Dasi, and talks about our true spiritual identity, led by Tirthapada Brahmachari, Vishvarupa prabhu, Madhusudan brahmacari, Haridas brahmacari, and Vishvambhar prabhu. Everyone left energized and satisfied.

Want us to bring kirtan, talks, or prasadam to your home? Reach out to Vasanti at +1 (347) 727-8692.

All of our services are completely donation-based. We are happy to share this outpouring of the heart for no set price.

June 2 – June 4:

Bhaktivedanta Madhava Maharaja

Bhaktivedanta Madhava Maharaja returned Monday for another visit following his trip to Guyana. While he spent most of his time resting and recovering from travel, he still took the time to answer the devotees’ questions and give class on Sri Baladeva Vidyabusana’s appearance day.

June 5:

Books & Kirtan in South Beach

Devotees are out almost daily, sharing books and prasadam. On Thursday, they distributed books on the streets of South Beach for several hours and performed Harinam Sankirtan after the sunset; dozens of books went out and hundreds of people heard the maha mantra for the first time.

With the help of our monthly donors, we distribute prasadam several times a week to the homeless in Miami and to the pigs, goats, and chickens at Earth N’ Us Farm, a local animal sanctuary. Want to support this project? Consider becoming a monthly donor here.

June 8:

Chipped rice festival

On Sunday, the devotees celebrated the Chipped Rice Festival, also known as Chida-dahi Mahotsava, by hearing the playful pastimes between Raghunatha Dasa Gosvami, Lord Nityananda, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, in addition to singing bhajans and honoring a special prasadam feast. Consider joining us for Sacred Sundays this week and every week 11:15-2 pm!
