Building Bridges and Recording History
Wednesday was a significant day for local connection. Sivananda sena prabhu and Vasanti attended an interfaith brunch in the city district, finding inspiration in the long-term dedication local churches have shown in caring for their congregations with genuine love. Meanwhile, Haridas attended an interfaith dialogue with Mosaic Miami, joining representatives from Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities. The conversation centered on the importance of looking out for one’s neighbors and moving past the labels that often keep people apart.
The outreach extended into the evening as Radhashyama prabhu, Yasoda, Sumukhi, and Nikunja Vilasa visited a studio to record an interview for a popular podcast associated with Telemundo. They spoke about the heart-healing work happening at the temple, sharing insights that will reach a much wider audience when the episode airs in the coming months.

Bringing Love to South Beach
On Thursday, the energy moved to the coast as a group of devotees brought the music of the holy names to South Beach. The chanting and dancing created a spontaneous gathering point for people from all walks of life, drawing in passersby who were happy to pause and join the celebration.

Green Days and Broward Bliss
Saturday was a day of split service, reaching out to both Miami Shores and Broward County. At the Miami Shores Green Day festival, devotees hosted a table to share a message of kindness and spiritual growth with the local community. Many neighbors stopped by to pick up books, art, and prasadam cookies, expressing interest in visiting the temple soon.
Further north, another group brought kirtan to Davie. The gathering at Yoga Shala Davie was full of singing and dancing, ending with a celebratory meal that allowed the Broward community to connect and share in the festive atmosphere.
Sunday, April 19
Auspicious Beginnings and We Are United March
Sunday marked a historic milestone. To honor Akshaya Tritiya, a day traditionally associated with successful new beginnings, a fire ceremony was held at the temple to invite blessings for the future. In the spirit of growth and service, SVA officially launched its $8 million fundraising campaign to secure a larger, permanent home for the community to better serve the city.
Following the ceremony, a group participated in the We Are United March, an event dedicated to fostering relationships across different communities. The group chanted harinam along the path giving rise to many smiling faces. Afterwards Haridas was invited on stage to speak about the Gaudiya Vaishnava perspective on unity. He shared the words of Srila Bhaktivedanta Narayana Gowsami Maharaja; the timeless perspective that we are all part of one universal family, a message that resonated deeply with the crowd. The event concluded with everyone joining together in a final kirtan, proving that music and shared purpose can bring people together in a powerful way.
